SupplySwapInventory Swap Network

Investor overview

Turning surplus inventory into a new asset class.

SupplySwap is building an infrastructure layer for surplus inventory: a network where retailers, restaurants, and distributors can swap, sell, and repurpose overstock instead of writing it off.

We’re currently speaking with early-stage investors and strategic partners who share a thesis around circularity, working capital efficiency, and climate impact.

Market signal
$1T+

Estimated global value of unsold inventory and waste each year across retail, food, and logistics.

Initial focus
Local networks

Dense city networks of retailers and food businesses where swapping is logistically viable within hours, not days.

Business model
SaaS + take rate

Hybrid of software subscription, network access, and transaction-based revenue on successful swaps.

The problem: surplus is invisible until it’s written off.

Operators and store managers are on the front lines of inventory risk, but the tools they use are built for accounting, not action. By the time surplus shows up in a report, it’s often already too late.

  • Slow-moving SKUs and over-orders tie up working capital.
  • Current options (discounting, liquidation, or waste) are reactive.
  • Surplus data is fragmented across spreadsheets, back-office tools, and individual locations.

Why now

The combination of supply chain shocks, inflation, and ESG pressure is forcing operators to treat surplus differently:

  • CFOs are pushing for tighter working capital and better inventory turns.
  • Sustainability teams need measurable, operational levers — not just reports.
  • Cities are experimenting with circular economy initiatives and local reuse.

Product: a control panel for surplus inventory.

SupplySwap gives operators a live map of surplus inventory across locations and a network of compatible partners they can act on in real time.

  • Multi-location surplus tagging and structured intake templates.
  • Matching engine that surfaces potential swaps or buyers in radius.
  • Built-in messaging, offers, and swap tracking for transparency.
  • Dashboards for finance & sustainability: savings, avoided waste, CO₂.

Differentiation

  • Operator-first: built around workflows of GMs, store managers, and ops leads — not just procurement.
  • Network-aware: designed for local clusters (neighborhoods, cities, regions) where logistics are tractable.
  • Instrumented for impact: CO₂ and waste metrics are first-class, not an afterthought.

Early traction & pilot roadmap.

We’re in the pilot phase, working with a small set of anchor partners to validate surplus mapping workflows, swap mechanics, and value messaging inside their organizations.

  • Validating in verticals like grocery, independent retail, and food service.
  • Testing city-level “micro-networks” where logistics partners already operate.
  • Building a playbook for rolling out across multi-location groups.

Near-term roadmap

  1. Expand pilots with additional locations and categories.
  2. Deepen analytics and reporting for finance & ESG teams.
  3. Launch integrations with POS / inventory systems where needed.
  4. Design incentives and pricing that reward high-quality participation.

Business model & monetization.

Our long-term view is a layered model that aligns incentives across operators, partners, and the network itself:

  • Platform subscription for multi-location operators.
  • Network access fees for participation in curated local clusters.
  • Transaction-based revenue on successful swaps and purchases.
  • Optional premium analytics and reporting for finance & sustainability leaders.

What we’re looking for

We’re in conversation with:

  • Pre-seed / seed investors who understand operational SaaS, marketplace dynamics, or climate-tech.
  • Strategic partners in retail, food, or logistics willing to co-design pilots and distribution channels.

If you’d like to see more (deck, product walkthrough, or pilot details), we’d be happy to share under NDA.

Let’s talk about the surplus layer.

If our thesis resonates with your fund or partnership team, we’d welcome a conversation. We can walk through the product, the pilot roadmap, and how we see this evolving over the next 3–5 years.
